Volunteering at Dayton Hamvention

May 16-19, 2024
Xenia, Ohio

UPDATE: See our summary of Hamvention 2024 on the News page!

Each year, we send a contingent of volunteers from central Indiana out to Dayton, Ohio and assist the Dayton Amateur Radio Association (DARA) with running Hamvention, the largest amateur radio convention in the world.  This is a special event for us: we pride ourselves in giving back to the amateur radio community.

If you have interest in joining The Piglets for this adventure, let us know at a member meeting or on Discord! We typically tent camp nearby (2023/2024: Caesar Creek State Park). By day, we volunteer, browse the vendor booths & flea market, network with fellow hams & industry reps, attend seminars, and meet up with old friends. In the evenings, we fire up the rigs and rake in the POTA contacts!

If you are not a club member and would like to volunteer directly with DARA, please visit them online at W8BI.ORG or fill out their volunteer sheet. The Dayton Hamvention would not be what it is today without the great people of DARA. Please consider volunteering with them and help keep the Dayton Hamvention the great event that it is!
