2023 Piglet Radio Golf Open

September 30, 2023 - River Road Park - 12575 River Rd, Carmel, IN 46033

Come out and make radio contacts with a golf-inspired game.  Over the course of two hours, each team will set up a portable station and make contact with no more than 18 people. These 18 contacts represent your 18 holes on the golf course. Every contact is given a stroke value based on where they are calling you from. Teams are given a handicap score based on various participation criteria.  For example, you may raise your handicap by dressing your team in full golf regalia or operating QRP only.  The team with the lowest score takes home the prize.

Plaques are given for lowest score and highest score! 

DARA Hamvention

Each year, we send a contingent of volunteers from central Indiana out to Dayton, OH and assist the Dayton Amateur Radio Association (DARA). This is a special event for us. We pride ourselves in giving back to the amateur radio community. If you have interest in joining The Piglet's for this adventure, we will talk details at our member's meetings as the event gets closer. We typically camp somewhere in the greater Dayton area and rake in POTA contacts in the evenings. If you are not a club member and would like to volunteer directly with DARA, please visit them online at W8BI.ORG or fill out their volunteer sheet. The Dayton Hamvention would not be what it is today without the great people of DARA. Please consider volunteering with them and help keep the Dayton Hamvention the great event that it is.
